Sort out our potholes
IN response to "concerned resident" regarding the state of the roads in Trafford, I have been in dialogue with Councillor Pamela Dixon since early February, having tried to get some information from the Borough Highways Department without success.
I emailed Councillor Dixon some 10 days ago reporting that my car had been damaged as a direct result of the appalling state of the pot holed roads in the Borough, in particular Brooklands Road, but it would appear the disease is spreading - Northenden Road, Sale Moor Village, Marsland Road together with Harboro Road and others. You don't have to look far to see the disgraceful state into which the roads have been allowed to deteriorate. I have been promised a reply in due course.
Before the Councillors of ALL persuasions start to embark on planning a new Town Hall I would respectfully suggest that the infrastructure of the entire Borough is brought up to an acceptable level. No doubt we will be promised the "earth" prior to the May Elections, but in reality I wonder what will happen.

It's ridiculous. Some roads are totally disregarded and yet others are never left alone! I live on Walton Road - can somebody please tell me why it is being resurfaced when there is nothing at all wrong with the present surface? Would it perhaps have anything to do with the amount of councillors who actually live on the road? It's ridiculous and a total waste of our money - please target it at roads and areas that need it, not at roads and areas that are "special" because of who happens to live there?

you should try riding down brooklands road on a motorcycle.
i have to each day and even though i am pretty aware of the larger crators on the road i often get caught out and end up dropping into one. this road causes damage to bikes as well as cars as i have the repair receipts to prove it.more importantly is the safety aspect of motorcycle users on this toad. whilst i am an experienced rider i am not too good at all terrain riding on my sports bike which brooklands road is equal too. i have seen calmer dirt track courses with less demanding dips!!!
wake up local councillors.

Correction --it is the Tories who are intent on having a new town hall the other parties have voted against

i personnally invite any of our local councillors to be a pillion passenger on my motorcycle and travel down brooklands road to see first hand what we have to endure. i ask myself what is the point paying road tax to be treated like this??
(i do have road tax by the way)

The maintenance and upkeep of all of the roads complained about are paid for by Council Tax not road fund tax! Having and displaying a tax disc (which in some cases is free to owners of certain motor vehicles) has nothing to do with these roads.
Potholes can be reported by posting these on www.fillthathole.org
.uk
Other problems (and fixed problems) in Trafford can be found by clicking on Trafford and updating the list
To include fixed [etc.] problems make sure all the boxes are ticked including the "in progress" "fixed" "rejected" and "invalid" ones.
Problems with trails can be similarly viewed on:
