Pensioner banned from making nuisance calls
AN Altrincham pensioner has been given an anti-social behaviour order after making hundreds of false calls to police.
Sixty-four-year-old Shirley Casey of Rostherne Street admitted to making 228 nuisance calls and was given the ASBO after appearing at Trafford Magistrates in Sale.
Under the order Casey is now prohibited from making hoax calls to the emergency services in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to any person.
In addition she is banned from using threatening or abusive language or behaviour towards any person and using or threatening to use violence towards any one person in England and Wales.
She is also forbidden from having any knife in her possession in a public place without a reasonable excuse and from consuming or being in possession of an open container of alcohol in a public place, such as a park, street or road.
The order will last until February 28 2010.
