A SALE resident has snapped up a top prize in a national photography competition after sending in a heartwarming photograph of his daughter.

Stephen Campbell, 35, won a silver award in Mencap's national photography competition Snap! which aims to increase the understanding of people with learning difficulties.

Stephen's photograph "Tickle..." was entered in the Celebration category and shows his daughter Elizabeth, who has down's syndrome and cerebral palsy, laughing with the caption: "This is our 4-year-old daughter Elizabeth. She can't walk or talk. She can however, laugh and we celebrate this every day with tickles!"

Celebrity photographer Rankin, who was a judge, said: "Using photographs and stories together gives a unique insight into a person's life.

"The judging was a really tough job, as the standard of entries was outstanding and i was really impressed by the creativity shown."

Stephen's photograph will be on display at the Proud Camden gallery in London from June 19 to July 6.
