IN 2004 we launched our very successful Counter Action, celebrating the very best that local traders have to offer in Trafford. Many of you nominated your favourite traders, from fishmongers to newsagents, funeral directors to hairdressers.

Now, with concerns over carbon footprints, food miles and the credit crunch there has never been a better time to honour those traders who work to provide goods and services for the borough of Trafford.

Let us know who your favourite trader is and why. And not to leave out those working in shops belonging to chains, why not tell us about the shop workers that make you feel appreciated.
